The center of the museum is an oasis natural spring. The sound of the bubbles in the stone room was amazingly beautiful. This was one of the most peaceful places I have ever been in my life. I long to return!

  Amazigh instrument.
Water pitcher and wash basin. As Moroccan meals are traditionally served from a communal serving plate without utensils, hand washing occurs before each meal.
The museum's curator is an amazing artist. His calligraphy is stunning.

Ancient Amazigh water clock. The smaller bowl fills (or empties) every 6 minutes. The palm fronds keep count for each 6 minutes.
 To grind grain and spices.
 Ancient (still working!) Amazigh key.
Various caddies for tea glasses.

Oh, and I almost forgot - a "shout out" to my friend Mary in New Orleans - a Saharan scarab beetle!!

A visit to an elementary school in Goulmima. Again I am amazed at my host teacher Brahim’s hospitality and dedicated to gain the approval necessary for my visit – and the consideration of his colleagues to squeeze me into our tight schedule. Also again, I was rewarded with a special presentation by the students and was treated by students and teachers like I was visiting royalty. As in Brahim’s high school, I was amazed at the dedication of the teachers – and the motivation of the students.

Student lunch before the students and main course arrive.

Murals at my host's school.

Terrific.
