Oh, and I almost forgot - a "shout out" to my friend Mary in New Orleans - a Saharan scarab beetle!!

A visit to an elementary school in Goulmima. Again I am amazed at my host teacher Brahim’s hospitality and dedicated to gain the approval necessary for my visit – and the consideration of his colleagues to squeeze me into our tight schedule. Also again, I was rewarded with a special presentation by the students and was treated by students and teachers like I was visiting royalty. As in Brahim’s high school, I was amazed at the dedication of the teachers – and the motivation of the students.

Student lunch before the students and main course arrive.

Murals at my host's school.

Terrific.

My host teacher Brahim's class - who surprised us with a presentation of tradition Amazigh dress and food.
Our innkeeper host Hakim - and the pouring of the ubiquitously Moroccan & delicious mint tea. The higher the height of the pour - the more delicious froth.

Back at our Goulmima Hotel - Gite D'Etape Les Jardins & our marvelous host, Hakim.

The beautiful Sahara.

In the "sandy dunes" of the Sahara desert. Note that the nomad camp is both traditional - and current.

Tent-style roadside cafe in the Amazigh (Berber) tradition.

In and around Goulmima.

Geyser in the desert. The iron box surrounding it is to make it look more "modest."

The oasis valley and villages in the Sahara.
